What it is

SPMT World provides three things the industry has lacked: a publicly searchable company directory with sourced fleet data, a free axle-line calculator built on a documented methodology verified against DNV-GL-ST-N001, and a fleet map showing who operates where.

Data principles

Every fleet figure on this platform is published with a source URL, a date, and a figure type. The build system enforces this — a figure without a source cannot be published. If a figure has a source, it is published with that source; the reader can always verify independently.

All companies are on identical terms. No company pays to appear, and no company pays for a higher position or additional data fields. The claimed/unclaimed badge reflects whether a company has contacted us — it does not imply any endorsement or verification of the data.

The calculator

The axle-line calculator is based on the SPMT World calculation specification Rev B, desk-validated against DNV-GL-ST-N001 Marine operations and marine warranty (2018/2020 edition). It implements Modules 1–8 covering axle-line count, load distribution and hydraulic grouping, stability (DNV load cases A and B), traction and PPU sizing, load securing, spine-beam bending, suspension stroke and braking.

It is indicative only and intended for early-stage planning. It is not a substitute for a project-specific engineering calculation by a qualified transport engineer. An external engineer review is required before the full calculator is publicly released.
